Even though I have maintained the stance of no personal posts, I can’t resist sharing (read- showing off) this with you. And I am not exactly deviating from my stance- it’s more of a Daone thing than an Omkar one. Now what am I talking about? It’s a story that spans two days forming two parts- experience and inspiration. But before that I need to introduce you to my wonderful career choice- BMM.
BMM or Bachelor of Mass Media is a stream that gives you an exposure to everything interesting. You get to read literature, study intriguing subjects like psychology and sociology, watch movies as a part of the curriculum, go on various industrial visits and basically have fun in the name of studies. In three years it almost gives you an overview of everything important in life, or that’s what I feel. One of the best parts is as we get a direct access to advertising, we get to make them too. And that’s how the ad of Loco-The Magic Bat was made.
It was entire shot at my place- me being the creative director and producer. A one minute ad took three hours to shoot and another four to edit. The end product was what we, being amateurs, were highly satisfied with and one which also won us the first prize. That sums up the experience part.
Now for the inspiration. The three hours spent in making proved to be a dauntingly beneficial. That gave me a gist of the basic unseen difficulties of cinematography and direction and I like to believe I emerged an enlightened soul and more ready for realizing one of my aspirations-
Turning the Caller Tune script to an actual screen product!
Us BMMites are also given a chance to make short films by ourselves. Some of you might know that I wrote the script for a 10 minute animation movie which remained unmade because the maker was too intimidated. But now, I got the reins in my hands and I get to make it my way. I already found a perfect actress and a talented actor for the parts. We have an undecided but ever-ready technical team in hands and then there is of course there is me- a director, cinematographer and a partial producer.
Wish me luck, people. I really need it :)

Glad to see the Story is going to be Put on Screen. Too bad the animated version didn't work out...
already told you the ad was really good.yeah good that you are not depending on someone else coz this world of movies and everything is not that simple the way it portrays.so its better to take your work in your own hands and start creating something rather than waiting for someone else.posted something after a long time and glad to read it.waiting for your new story!!i know the title but hmmm..why spoil it right?so keep writing!!

@Heave: I know re. Film-making is really difficult and suffocatingly expensive even though this one hardly requires much of a budget. But yes, we are still on it. Hope we get it right :)
@Shreya: 0.0? You aren't in BMM? Damn, you would've crackled in BMM. Xavier's lost out to you. And please, don't ask about my college name. Plainly put- it sucks. I am changing next year though :)
a director, a cinematographer and Producer, all rolled into one?? Wow!
